London Stands With Ukraine — Tilda Butterworth

An analogue photo series documenting London Stands With Ukraine, a solidarity march and vigil organised by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on Saturday 26th March 2022.

The event was "an opportunity to send a unified message of support to the Ukrainian people".

Tens of thousands attended.

The march made its way down Park Lane towards Trafalgar Square.

Musicians played on the side of the road, and vans offered free vegetarian food to those marching in a beautiful display of community spirit.

Helicopters circled overhead as strands of the march came together.

Placards read "Stop Putin Stop War", "All Russians accountable", "Putin Get Out".

The crowd assembled in Trafalgar Square to listen to speeches, poetry, music, and even a phone call from Kyiv's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, who left a bunker to address the crowd.

The event drew to a close as the sun began to disappear.
